Attorney Joel Hesch recently coached a law school team to a National Championship Title and crowned as the best law school negotiations team in America.
One of the most important legal skills of an attorney is negotiations. While at the U.S. Department of Justice, Hesch settled 97% of fraud cases he worked on resulting in over $1.5 billion in recoveries. Hesch left DOJ to form The Hesch Firm, LLC to exclusively represent whistleblowers file for rewards for reporting fraud against the government. Hesch uses those same negotiation skills to help clients win hundreds of millions of dollars in settlements eligible for rewards for his clients.
Hesch believes in giving back to the community and acts as the head coach of a law school team that competes against other law schools. Hesch chooses to pass on his negotiation skills to future lawyers who seek to showcase their burgeoning skills in inter-school negotiation competitions. Over 200 law school teams competed in the American Bar Association’s (ABA) Regionals and the top 24 law school teams advanced to Nationals. Hesch’s team not only won its Region but went undefeated at both Regionals and Nationals to be crowned as the 2024 ABA National Negotiation Champions.
By winning this event, the team coached by Hesch will represent the United States in a World Negotiation Competition held later this year.
Hesch devotes significant time in training the next generation of attorneys who are our future. Hesch not only teaches legal skills but also acts as a mentor teaching the importance of character and integrity as part of representing clients fully and faithfully.
