Post Office Fraud
One of the most under-reported areas of fraud is companies cheating on how much postage to pay for mailing letters. It can add up when there are large mailings or if fraud occurs over several years. For instance, a credit card company recently paid DOJ $6 million because it knew that its credit card bills did not qualify for a discount rate that it was receiving. The whistleblower received $1.2 million for stepping forward.
